Helpful Resources!

I've added this page because Powwow does not always address every single need that you might have.

If you are in need of help, please see if the following resources might help you out. You can utilize these resources IN ADDITION to Powwowing help.

Don't be afraid to reach out for help. I will add more resources to this page as I find them!

PEOPLE SEEKING HELP - a page of resources put together by the CDC for ALL SORTS OF FOLKS; whether you are in a mental health crisis, a domestic abuse situation, are Trans and need some help, need drug counseling, etc. A very helpful resource!

NEED HELP PAYING BILLS is an amazing resource that allows you to search your specific area to see if there are financial resources available to help you!

The Homeowner Assistance Fund is government money to help you get caught up on your mortgage, late utility bills, etc. if your financial troubles began with the COVID pandemic! This is a Grant, meaning you do NOT have to pay this money back! You can get approved for up to $50,000 of free money if you qualify.

Good Autistic Advocacy Organization is a very helpful resource for all adults and children who are on the Autism spectrum. Please do NOT be afraid to ask for help!

ACLU LGBTQ Rights is a website with resources if you are LGBTQ and are facing discrimination. You have support, so please don't think you are alone!

Free Educational Training. I wanted to include this because here in Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro has done away with the four-year college requirement for a majority of Commonwealth jobs. This is great news! But many of those Commonwealth jobs do require at least some knowledge in certain fields. Now you can get some training for free that may help you get that high-paying Commonwealth position.

Animal Care PA is a grant program designed to help pay for the care and treatment of pets, with an emphasis on helping pay for care for strays that are hurt or sick. The grant program does have pretty strict criteria. However, if you are approved, the vet will receive payment of up to $1,500 for the medical care for your animal. Follow the link to get more information. Talk to your vet to see if they participate in this helpful grant!

Pennsylvania Free Dental Care is a website that lists free dental service clinics around the state. Dental insurance can be extremely expensive and, if you don't have it, you could be suffering for years with dental health issues without relief. Please, if you are one of these individuals, go to this link and find a free clinic near you!

Catholic Charities USA is an amazing foundation that helps with farmer's aid, migrant resources, affordable housing, education, adoption, and so much more!

Free eye exams and glasses! If you are living with vision issues and cannot afford glasses or an exam, or you don't have health insurance, please click on the link to see if there is a free service local to you!

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a program designed to offer dollars to be spent on food for those facing financial crisis. The SNAP program has been helping food-insecure families get the necessary food they need for a very long time. The funding for SNAP comes from the United States Department of Agriculture as well as the Federal Government. This is an amazing program. If you are food-insecure, please apply right away!
